WELL done to the Senior men who beat St. Michaels on a scoreline of 6- 8 to 0- 9 points in Connolly Park on Sunday. It lifts them off of the bottom of the Divison 2 Table. See our facebook page for match report. They now have a month’s break from the league campaign as they aim to retain their Division 2 status. THE Men’s second team resume their Division 4 campaign on Wednesday away to Castleconn­or with throw- in at 7pm. BEST of luck to the u12 boys who play Ballymote/ Bunninadde­n at Connolly park on Tuesday at 7pm. The u14 Boys play away to Ballymote/ Bunninadde­n on Thursday at 7pm. An agonising 1 point defeat for the U- 12 girls this morning in Markievicz in the league semi- final, but their best performanc­e of the season, as they gave everything. Huge thanks to Francis O’Beirne and Caroline Ní Choighligh for their continued efforts. WELL done Minor Player Roan Conneely who was the winner of “Best and Fairest Award” for Sligo in their U17 Celtic Challenge match vs Mayo on Wednesday. WELL done to our former player Ross Taheny who has been named on the Irish soccer Colleges and Universiti­es squad to travel to France to take on the French Universiti­es on June 7th in the build- up to August’s World University Games. A massive thank you to all who volunteere­d their time for our bagbacking at Whitesides Supervalu on Friday and Saturday. It was an extremely successful fundraiser adding vital funds for running our club. Also a huge thanks to Cecil for affording us this excellent opportunit­y for what was a busy weekend with the shop relaunch. The numbers drawn were 17,19,20 & 21. THERE was no winner of the € 6,600 Jackpot. Congrats to our ‘ Match 3’ Winner Johnny Finn Knockbeg, Collooney who wins € 100. Thanks to everyone who bought tickets and continues to support the club. As there was no winner this week, the Jackpot rolls over to € 6,700. The next draw will take place in Connolly’s Bar Inn on Monday 12th June. THE club are deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of Dan Gilmartin, Knockbeg, Collooney. Sympathies are extended to his wife Phyllis, Son’s, Justin, Danny, David and his Daughter Mary and to Dan’s brothers and sisters and the extended Gilmartin family. The Gilmartin family are stepped in Owenmore Gaels tradition, Dan’s son Justin has held many management roles in the club and was also a member of the club executive, Danny played for the club with at all levels and many of Dan’s grandchild­ren wore the club colours. The club extends its deepest sympathies. FINALLY, best of luck to all Gaels who are starting their exams over the next few days!
