Tractor run is a success
THE community of Keash came out in force recently for a fundraiser in aid of their local project.
A tractor run was held in the village with proceeds going to the Keash Village Enhancement Community Park and Playground Project.
There was a good turnout for the event with more than 55 tractors registered.
A novel run for juniors too was held.
The run itself was around 22KM, took about 1 1/ 2 hours to complete, including most of the neighbouring areas of Culfadda, Lark Hill, Gurteen and Rathmullen.
Members of the Wedges Motorcycle Club led off the Run from the White Hall Community Centre in Keash and acted as marshalls.
At the Community Centre there was a Junior Tractor Run for the kids around a marked course in the car park.
There was lots of entertainment for children with a bouncy castle, face painting, colouring competition, barbeque, giant sized Shove ‘ apenny game all keeping the crowds entertained.
After the return of the tractors there was an auction of a large trailer load of turf and timber along with other items, various services such as plant hire, hedge cutting, landscaping, sheep shearing fencing and more. The Auction was ably hosted by Pat Ward with organisers thanking everyone who supported and helped out on the day.
