Ophardt raises € 3,500 for Hospice

-

OPHARDT Hygiene employ 87 people at their Ballymote facility where they produce soap and disinfectant dispensers to the international healthcare market.

This year it was decided to combine a social get- together for all the staff with a fundraising effort in aid of the NW Hospice.

On the 19th of May the company hosted a BBQ for the staff and afterwards employees ran a table quiz and raffle to generate funds for the Hospice. The monies raised came from the staff that participated in both the quiz and the raffle, whose donations were matched by the company. In addition suppliers and business partners were asked to contribute to the effort by making donations and the response received was terrific.

Overall a great day was had and more importantly the wider Ophardt team raised a grand total of € 3,500 which employees presented to Cathryn O’Leary of the NW Hospice on the 26th of May.

North West Hospice provides specialist care with compassion for those living with life- limiting illness in our community. Our catchment area includes Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan, a population of approximately 110,000 people. To maintain our current level of service, we must raise € 1million every year from fundraising events, voluntary contributions, donations and bequests. This is a huge challenge which we can only meet through the generosity and goodwill of individuals businesses and organisations in our community such as this amazing team at Ophardt.
