GARDA IS ACCUSED OF USING FORGED PRESCRIPTIONS IN CHEMISTS
A Garda been charged with using forged and photocopied prescriptions to obtain prescription drugs from seven pharmacies around Sligo.
Jimell Henry ( 35) of Cairns Hill, Sligo was arrested by Garda David Hannigan last Thursday, June 1st, by appointment and appeared before Judge Kevin Kilrane in Sligo District Court.
Garda Hannigan said the defendant made no reply to each of the 13 charges put to her.
It’s alleged that Henry used photocopied prescriptions to dishonestly obtain 60 Anxicalm tablets and 28 Stilnoct tablets from Chemco Pharmacy on February 3rd 2016, 60 Anxicalm pills from Homecare Pharmacy Cornageeha on February 8th 2016 and attempted to obtain 60 Anxicalm pills from Higgins Pharmacy on February 13th last year.
It’s alleged she used a photocopied and a forged prescription to get 60 Anxicalm and 28 Stilnoct tablets from Lannon’s Late Night Pharmacy on April 5th 2016.
She’s alleged to have then used a forged prescription to obtain 60 Anxicalm tablets from Tohers Chemist, O’Connell Street on April 9th.
The same day, Henry is alleged to have gone to Homecare Pharmacy in Cornageeha again and used a forged prescription to obtain 60 more Anxicalm tablets.
Ten days later on April 19th 2016, Henry is alleged to have produced a forged prescription to obtain 60 Anxicalm tablets at Healthwise Pharmacy, Connaughton Road.
A day later, on April 20th 2016, the defendant is accused of using a forged prescription in an attempt to deceive staff into dispensing 60 Anxicalm and 28 Stilnoct tablets at Markievicz Pharmacy, Holborn Hill.
Judge Kilrane released Henry on bail, on condition she sign on every Friday at Sligo Garda Station and have no contact directly or indirectly with any witness in this case.
The case was adjourned to June 29th for service of the Book of Evidence.
