Love of food brings the Easkey community together for feast

-

CUISINE of all kinds was on show at the Easkey Street Feast on Sunday afternoon.

The initial heavy rain gave way later in the afternoon, and locals turned out in their numbers to sample some of the locally cooked and baked goods available on the day.

Street Feast is Ireland’s annual day of street parties & community lunches.

Anyone can host a party with their neighbours once they have registered online and received the free party pack.

This is the 8th year of Street Feast; last year over 120,000 people took part in 1,215 Street Feasts.

Some of the treats on offer in Easkey included Czech cakes, homemade lemonade, auber- gine, fennel and black bean stew, homemade tortillas, cakes and buns and lots more.
