Believe and Achieve 5k
THE Believe and Achieve 5K was held last Friday in perfect running conditions on a lightning fast downhill and flat course. First home was Clare man Jake O’Regan in a very impressive 14: 04. North Sligo’s Cian McBride was next in 16: 09. Sligo AC runners made up the rest of the top 5. Leo Doherty was 3rd in 16: 32 with Conor Melvin following in 16: 42. Ultan McNasser was 5th in 16: 38. The ladies race was won by the highly- regarded Teresa Doherty, the Finn Valley star posting 16: 40. Corran AC’s Sara Doohan, following on from her great run when finishing 5th out of 50,000 in the Women’s Mini Marathon, ran 17: 47. Sligo AC’ s Mari Johnston was next in 19: 10 with Karen Sweeney following in 20: 15. Monica Henry, with a great 20: 32, completed the ladies top 5.
