Rosses Point venue for Kids Tour

THE Irish Golfer Magazine is launching an all- new five- tournament Irish Kids Golf Tour and the Co Sligo Golf Club is the second venue for the event this July and August.

The tour is visiting every Province in the country and the competitio­n will comprise of four Provincial events and an All- Ireland event.

Gordon Smyth and a partner Ciaran Cahill in associatio­n with Irish Golfer Magazine are launching an all- new 5 tournament Tour called the ‘ Irish Kids Golf Tour’. The website irishkidsg­olftour.com is live to take bookings into the events.

The Irish Kids Golf Tour is a five tournament series running in July and August. The competitio­n will comprise of 4 provincial events and an All- Ireland event to finish. The age categories will run from under 7- 13 year olds ( Boys & Girls) and each event is a stand- alone single day event.

With the huge prominence of Irish players both male and female now on the world stage, golf has become a huge draw with our kids.

Finding the next Rory McIlroy will become a lot easier with platforms like the ‘ Irish Kids Golf Tour’.

Around 70 - 100 children are expected to be playing in each of these events.

The following is a sample of what the layout would be; Under 7,8 & 9 - Nine holes Under 10,11,12,13 - Eighteen holes The confirmed venues are; Leinster Trophy: Mount Juliet Resort – July 3rd Connaught Trophy: Co Sligo GC – July 10th Ulster Trophy: Slieve Russell Resort – July 30th Munster Trophy: Fota Island Resort – August 3rd All Ireland Trophy: Headfort GC – August 18th Entry into the event is € 25 ( excluding booking fee € 1.50)
