Congratulations and good wishes to Nan Gorman, Gurteen, who celebrated her 97th birthday on Wednesday, May 31.
BINGO
Bingo is on every Friday night at 8.30 p. m. in Gurteen Hall the jackpot was won recently and now stands at € 2,000 on 47 calls or less with a lotto jackpot of € 300. Profits are shared for the hall upkeep and the local GAA Club Eastern Harps.

GURTEEN TIDY TOWNS
Congratulations to the winners of the anti litter programme poster competition in conjunction with the fifth and sixth class pupils of Carn NS. The winning posters were made into four anti litter signposts for all main approach roads into the village in consultation with Sligo County Council. Thanks to all participants and to Ms McWeeney for facilitating the competition.
Thanks to Damien from DS Signs for working so hard to get the Carn school crest and Gurteen Tidy Towns logo on each sign and Pat O’Grady for making the poles. Big congratulations to the winners Amy Scanlon, Holly Murray, Calum Flynn and Meadh McCormack.
RECENT FUNDRAISER
Monica McGovern and family Gurteen would like to express their gratitude to everyone who were so generous during the recent fundraising event held for Gerry Cummins following his life changing accident in Galway in March. His wife Caroline ( nee Roche) is a niece of Monica. Well done to all and best wishes are extended to Gerry.
FLEADH CHEOIL WINNERS:
At the Co. Sligo Fleadh Cheoil held in Sligo Town last week the following members of Craobh Coleman Branch CCE Gurteen were prizewinners:
Megan Walsh and Adam Murray were on the U12 grupa ceoil who got 1st. Adam Murray 1st U12 bodhran. Eimer McCoy, Liam Candon, Niamh Flaherty, Ronan Dwyer, Rebecca Murray, and Rachael Davey were members of the 12- 15 Grupa ceoil which got 2nd place. Rachael Davey got 2nd in the12- 15 Concertina competition and 2nd with the 12- 15 Ceili band. Rebecca Murray came 3rd in the 12- 15 bodhran competition and Ronan Dwyer got 1st piano 12- 15, 1st comhra geilghe 12- 15, and was a member of the 12 - 15 ceili band who got 3rd. Liam Candon got 3rd in 12- 15 banjo. Congratulations and best of luck to them in the Connacht Fleadh in early July in Galway.
