BOYLE ABBEY

The office of Public Works is pleased to announce that on the first Wednesday of each month, all OPW managed Heritage Sites will continue to offer free admission. This will apply to all sites, including Boyle Abbey, for the duration of their season. Boyle Abbey is open daily from 10 a. m. till 6 p. m. with last admission at 5.15 p. m.

NATIONAL PLAY DAY

Castlerea Festival are delighted to announce we are returning to Lough Key for National Play Day on Sunday, June 25. After last year’s phenomenal success we are bringing a bigger, better and slightly different show to the park.

FAI SOCCER CAMP

The annual FAI Soccer Camp will take place at Celtic Park in Boyle from the seventh to August 11. The camps cater for players of all abilities and participan­ts are grouped according to ability and age to ensure that everyone gets the most out of being on a Sports.

Beginners will learn the fundamenta­l football skills needed to be a player and receive a fun and dynamic introducti­on to playing the game. More seasoned players will focus on more technical and skill- specific training and everyone will come together in the afternoon to participat­e in mini- leagues and small- sided games.

The coaching programme for the week is fully aligned to our Player Developmen­t Plan and offers young players the opportunit­y to maximise their learning and developmen­t in a fun and safe environmen­t while doing what every young footballer loves to do score goals.

IRISH SUMMER CAMP

Enrolment is now open for an all Irish summer camp which will take place from Monday, June 26, till Friday, June 30, in Boyle. This camp is for first and second year students. It will cover all the skills needed for Junior Cert Irish both oral and written in a fun and creative way.

Enrolment is also open for a Primary school students Irish summer camp which will take place from Monday, July 3, till Friday, July 7, in Boyle.

The aim of these summer camps is to offer students an enjoyable and fun atmosphere where they can learn Irish and have the opportunit­y to speak it in an Active Learning environmen­t lots of drama, games music, art, cooking, dancing and outings. Class starts at 10 a. m. and finishes at 2.30 p. m. each day. Discounts are available for families.
