COUNTY FLEADH CHEOIL

The County Fleadh Cheoil took place the bank holiday week- end in Sligo. Congratula­tions to Mark Dunleavy, who came first in the Uilleann Pipes, first in Uilleann Pipes slow airs, second in the tin whistle, second in the tin whistle slow airs all which was under 15 years, and third in a duet with Rachel Davey, Gurteen.

Congratula­tions also to Lor- raine Dunleavy, who came first in the flute slow airs, second in the tin whistle slow airs, third in the flute all under 12 years. They also competed in the ceili bands and grupa ceoil who also did very well and now go through to the Connacht Fleadh which takes place this year in Galway next month. We wish them the very best of luck.

Well done to St Nathy’s ladies’ team, winners of the senior league division one final on Sunday, June 1. Their opponents were Geevagh.

The Sligo ladies’ team are wished the best of luck as the take on Roscommon this Saturday, June 17. Time and venue not know at time of submitting notes.

Best of luck also to the Sligo men who play Antrim at Markievicz Park this Saturday at 5 p. m.
