SPONSORED RUN/ WALK

A sponsored run/ walk organised by Rathlee NS Parents’ associatio­n will take place next Thursday, June 15, at 7 p. m. The run/ walk will start at the Harbour Bar, Pullaheene­y. In addition to the usual 7k option, for those who may want to run the event, there is a 5k route also. Both options finish at Browne’s Bar to a celebrator­y barbecue. Entries taken at Brownes Bar from 6 p. m. Entry fee € 10, which includes barbecue.

WINDMILL PLAYERS

Windmill Players drama group in Dromore West held their annual general meeting recently and was attended by over 20 people. The existing officers retained their positions except for Deirdre Kilgannon, who stepped down as secretary. Deirdre is thanked for her valuable services. The following are the officers for the coming year chairperso­n; Kieran O’Connor, secretary; Jason Kilgannon, Joint treasurers; Kathleen Kilgannon and Margaret Judge, PRO: Geraldine McCloat.

SOCIAL LEISURE CYCLE

As part of Bike Week a free social leisure cycle will be held in Dromore West starting at the community centre going to Easkey along the coastal loop on Friday, June 16 from 6 p. m. HEALTH/ SAFETY COURSE

A QQIL3 Health and Safety Awareness course is scheduled for June 15 and 16 in Skreen- Dromard Community centre from 9.30 a. m. to 3.30 p. m. THE LATE LIAM CAWLEY

The death has taken place in Dublin of Liam ( William) Cawley formerly of Ballycummi­n, Easkey. Requiem Mass was celebrated in the Church of St Philip and Apostle, Mountview. Burial took place in Roslea Cemetery on Monday, June 5. Sympathy is extended to his wife Annette sons Francis, Gerard, Dermot and daughter Lorraine, sisters, brothers, grandchild­ren, inlaws, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on June 2. Numbers drawn were 10, 14, 17 and 23.

Winners of € 25 were Denise and Carmel, Harry O’Donnell, James Curley, Annette Brady and Willie Brady. Promoters prize Maureen Sloyan.

Next jackpot is € 4,400 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the Community Centre at 8.30 on Friday night. The lotto now is available online.
