Gaynor Cup

SLIGO/ LEITRIM Under12 Girls Emerging Talent squad qualified to play in the All- Ireland Semi- Final at the Gaynor Cup in Limerick on June 24th, the first time for them to qualify. The squad came out on top in a 6- team Regional Tournament in May, held at Shiven Rovers in Roscommon/ East Galway. Sligo/ Leitrim had 4 wins on the day, v Longford, Mayo, Inishowen and Mid- Western ( Roscommon), and a draw against Donegal. Topping the group earned the S/ L side a berth at the Gaynor Cup, where they will face Metropolitan Girls League ( Dublin), Galway and South Tipperary in the final- 4 faceoff. Two weeks ago they took part in the annual u12 Inishowen Tournament in Donegal, winning the Plate with two Sligo teams in the final. Capt), Katie McGuire ( Capt) Lara Swann, Nola Eivers, Ciara Brennan, Eimear Hunt, Sorcha Feehily, Ruth Flanagan, Katie McLaughlin, Anna Meade, Aine McLaughlin. Coaches: Brian Chambers, Laura McGuinn, Amy Hyndman. There are a further six players training with the squad as development players: Luna Simeoni, Alice Lillie, Jillian Monaghan, Sarah Kiernan, Keeva Flynn and Orla Scanlon.
