THE 20th annual Strandhill Show takes place this Sunday, June 25th.

The day’s festivities will begin at 1pm in Lisheen and continue all day until around 6.30pm.

“It’s a family fun day, and it’s a great day out for the whole family,” said Johnny Kivlehan, Chairman of the Strandhill Show.

There will be lots of entertainment for children with a bouncy castle, Kiltimagh Pet Farm, pony and trap, kids maze, a Scouting Ireland demo, Dinky Diggers and much more.

Anyone attending will be captivated by the arts and crafts on display on the day such as basket making, Breeogue Poterry, knitting, photography and more.

Entries are on the day, so there is no predicting what will be there on the day, which adds to the fun.

A courtesy bus from the car park in Strandhill will start at 1pm, which buses running every hour. The last bus will leave Lisheen at 7pm.

Johnny has been involved with the show since its inception 20 years ago.

“A lot has changed since then. It was originally all about show- jumping and horses but we’ve since dropped that,” he said.
