COMMUNITY GAMES

The County Athletic Finals take place on Saturday, June 24 ( 1.30 p. m.) and Sunday, June 25 ( 2 p. m.) at Sligo IT Tracksuits and Singlets will be distribute­d on Wednesday, June 21, at 7.30 p. m. in the Teeling Centre – € 50 deposit will be collected and given back on the return of the tracksuit/ singlet. Our area will be wearing number 18 for the finals. Best of luck to all the local children involved.

OWENMORE GAELS

Plans for our new stand are complete and displayed in clubhouse. We are now in the first phase on constructi­on. Anybody willing to join the fundraisin­g drive with € 20 per month for one year please contact Niall 087 7609420.

Owenmore Gaels are having a Golf Outing in Castledarg­an on June 30/ July 1. It will be played in a Scramble format, it’s € 120 for a team of four. There are lots of prizes to be won including Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin. Saturday Morning Gaelic Coaching continues next Saturday, June 10, from 10.30 to 11.30 a. m. for ages four to 12. For registered club members only. We are looking for parents to get involved as we need to ensure we have adequate supervisor­s each week. Spread the Word.

Underage Handball coaching continues each Saturday at 11 a. m. in the Handball Alley.

BEST KEPT ESTATE

Best Kept Estate Competitio­n will be judged in July. There will be two categories – Best Kept Large Estate ( 25 houses +) and Best Kept Small Estate ( less than 25 houses). Everyone is asked to help out by keeping lawns mowed, trimming hedges, painting and repairing garden walls and keeping road frontage litter and weed free.

TIDY TOWNS

Collooney Tidy Towns are asking all residents and businesses alike to make an extra special effort as judging begins now, to help keep our town tidy. This may include weeding, rubbish picking, sweeping, painting and planting outside of your house or premises. Your efforts jointly with ours in the campaign to keep Collooney and green and clean is greatly appreciate­d.

NOVENA

The guest speakers at the St Maria Goretti Novena taking place nightly at 8 p. m. from June 28 to July 6 are Bishop Brendan Kelly, Fr Eugene Duffy, Fr Tommy Towey, Fr Steve Gibson, Fr Paul Kivlehan, Dr David Barnes, Fr Stephen Farragher, Brendan Cleary and Fr John Maloney.
