SLIGO FLEADH SUCCESS

Congratula­tions to the young local musicians Ciara and Hannah Lee, Aoife, Sinéad and Conor Johnston, Michael Gorman and Dylan Giblin, who were prize winners in the individual and group competitio­ns at the county Fleadh in Sligo recently. Wishing them all the best of luck in the Connacht Fleadh in July.

PARISH ENHANCEMEN­T

A total of € 1,270 was received in donations on the day of the photo and history exhibition. Thank you to all who contribute­d. These funds will go towards flowers, timber, compost, paint, new anti litter signs and any other items associated with the parish clean- up. The next committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 4, at 9.30 p. m. in the Parochial House.

NACE O’DOWD PARK

Coolaney- Mullinabre­ena GAA are delighted to announce the commenceme­nt of the next phase of leader funded works at Nace O’Dowd Park. Work has commenced on installati­on of the new walking/ running track along with new steel spectator fence. A new all weather sand training area will also be installed. The new modern playing pitch is nearing completion and will soon be ready for use once again. Thanks to all the park users for your continued patience during the period of constructi­on.

CLOTHES COLLECTION

Achonry NS parents’ associatio­n are having their annual clothes collection on the following dates: Friday, June 23, 3 p. m. to 4 p. m. at Achonry NS and 8 p. m. to 9 p. m. at St Nathy’s Hall Mullinabre­ena. Also Saturday, June 24, 10 a. m. to midday at St Nathy’s Hall.

Accepting all clothing including underwear, bed linen, towels, curtains, footwear, hand bags, belts and soft toys. Not accepted: pillows, duvets and mats. Keep packing and pass the word on to extended family, neighbours and friends and put a big effort in. For collection ring 087 6312980.

8K ROAD RACE

The Coolaney- Mullinabre­ena GAA second annual 8k Road race will take place in Coolaney on Wednesday, July 5, at 7.30 p. m. Run, Jog or Walk this well organised and chip timed event in what promises to be a great occasion with numbers expected to be well up following last year’s success. Refreshmen­ts served.

CARROWMORE SCHOOL

The friends of Carrowmore School group have announced plans for a Rambling house/ social event in the School on Saturday, August 12, More details to follow.
