Stage is set for Sligo Jazz Festival

SLIGO Jazz Project launched its 2017 Sligo Jazz Fest programme with a night of superb music in Tricky’s McGarrigle­s on Thursday.

Sligo Jazz Project’s Eddie Lee thanked Cathaoirle­ach Hubert Keaney who took time out from an important function to perform the official launch and spoke of his

excitement some of the programme’s highlights, which include Artist in t in Residence, MOBO award winner Soweto ummer Virgil Donati and a co- promotion ats Summer School and the Hawk’s Well Christine Tobin’s six piece Yeats inspired yzantium” jazz project at the Hawk’s Well on Thursday July 27.

Sligo Jazz Festival takes place from 25- 30 July and there are still places available in SJP’s superb internatio­nal summer school, the biggest and best event of its kind in Europe. see www. sligojazz. ie for details
