Kieran honoured by Races

At a recent Board Meeting of County Sligo Races a presentation was made to Kieran O’Connor the out- going Chairman.

Kieran has been associated with Sligo Races as a director for several years.

In March 2017 he finished his three year term as Chairman with the new Chairman Donald O’Connor taking over.

Kathryn Foley, Manager of Sligo Races, said: “Kieran will remain as a director and no doubt continue to contribute his knowledge and wisdom for many years to come.

“Among the highlights of Kieran’s term as Chairman was the visit of Prince Charles and Camilla to Sligo Races.”

The racecourse at Cleveragh has been undergoing major drainage works this year, which resulted in the first three meetings being cancelled for safety reasons. The next meeting, on Sunday July 16th, is expected to go ahead as planned.
