THE “Brooks” name in Sligo has been part of the town and county for in excess of 100 years, with many homes having a story of their association with “Hanleys” . Timber and building materials continue to be the core Brooks product areas servicing both the trade and the public. Brooks services many customer types, including young couples building their new homes, families renovating and extending, the local building contractor getting supply, right up to the larger commercial contractors.

Under the management of Karl Kelly the branch and its showroom has been recently renovated to a very modern standard and customer friendly layout.

The new showroom includes:

o Solid / semi solid Wooden and Laminate flooring o Doors and Ironmongery o Stove centre with Henley & Boru stoves and accessories o Sanitary ware and accessories o Wall and Floor tiles o Dulux Paint Centre Our building materials side of the shop has also been revamped and expanded, including Fixings, chemicals, adhesives and our new power tool range of Hitachi , Makita and Festool .

Building supplies remain a key area of business, with Brooks being the largest stockist and supplier in the Northwest of all the household names including Kingspan, Tegral, Velux and Gypsum. This product range is managed by our experienced staff members, Camillus Conboy and Michael Clancy, with many years working for Brooks and servicing our loyal customers.

Brooks has two full time sales representatives, John Monaghan & Eamon Flynn, covering the Sligo and Northwest area calling to sites, servicing our customers and their specific requirements. Derek Lindsay, John Kilcullen and Adrian Carroll look after stock and customer deliveries.

The entire branch, staff and customers alike are excellently supported internally by Helen Verdon and Stacy Melly, whatever the request.

While speaking with Karl Kelly, Manager of Brooks, he could not speak highly enough about the staff, “we have three staff members with a combined service of 132 years, while also having three members with a combined total of 8 years with Brooks, but 60 years in the trade, so this gives us a great mix when we are servicing our customers needs”. Karl also spoke of his pride in the way the shop now presents, “we worked very hard as a team throughout the renovation, from the design to the completed showrooms, we had a massive input from staff and customers, and have ended up with a fabulous outlet , providing great product range and facilities for customers and staff “.

Our vision is that our Customers will say “Brooks, they are the best”.
