7’ S MEMORIAL BLITZ
The third annual Michael Cawley Sligo 7’ s Memorial Blitz takes place on Saturday, July 1. Sligo Ladies’ football community will once again gather at Castleconnor GAA pitch to remember a stalwart of ladies’ GAA Michael Cawley. The Michael Cawley Sligo 7’ s in aid of Croi, the West of Ireland Cardiac foundation is a blitz event for ladies’ Gaelic teams across Sligo and Mayo.
The event is a fitting tribute to Michael an early advocate for ladies’ GAA in Sligo. The success of an any charity event like this relies thoroughly on the good will and community spirit of those who give of their time and energy, qualities one equates readily with the memory of Michael.
The Cawley family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Castleconnor GAA club, Sligo ladies’ GAA and all those who helped out, participated in and supported the blitz to date.
This year Mayo Clubs will cross the border to challenge the undefeated Eoghan Rua’s claim to the Michael Cawley Memorial cup. Castleconnor ladies will again enter a team of players who were mentored by the main man Michael. So please save the date and join us for a day of sport and good will, kick off is 10 a. m. to approx. 3 p. m.
