Sympathies are extended to the family of Gerry O’Brien, Dromahair ( brother of Teresa Gilmartin, Tubberscanavan) who passed away last week. May he rest in peace.

AFTERSCHOOL SERVICE

Young Explorers Afterschool Service at Scoil Mhuire agus Iosaf will have another information evening on Saturday, July 1, at 7 p. m. in the Teeling Centre.

LOTTO RESULTS

Collooney Village Redevelopment Ltd lotto results for June 21: numbers drawn were 6, 7, 26 and 31; no winner of jackpot. € 25 each to Pauline Anderson, Martina Wimsey, Agnes Agocova and Mary Loftus. Next draw for € 10,000 in the Owenmore Inn on July 5.

TIDY TOWNS

Tidy Towns are pleased to have created a floral display in the planters at the roundabout in the proud colours of blue and gold for our great Owenmore Gaels GAA Club. Golden begonias and blue lobelia are just beginning to open up and will last the whole summer through. Lobelias are also good for our bees.

Tidy Towns group would like to thank everyone who is making the effort to keeping the town and surrounding areas tidy. All the extra work going into painting, weeding, litter picking, sweeping, planting, etc is very noticeable and commendable and very much appreciated as judging has begun for this year’s competition. Lets keep the good work going.

First class students had a visit from a member of the committee who spoke to them about the importance of protecting and providing for our bees. The children were very well BE.

Ehaved and enjoyed learning about pollinators and their habitats and how they are vitally important to our landscape and our economy. They learned how easy it is to make homes for the bees and how planting the right plants will encourage bees to visit their gardens.

Anyone wishing to get involved in any aspect of our Tidy Towns, please feel free to speak to any member of the committee. You would be most welcome.

OWENMORE GAELS

The Owenmore Gaels competition for Nathan Carter tickets was won by Laura Loftus. Enjoy!

Owenmore Gaels are having a Golf Outing in Castledargan on June 30/ July 1. It will be played in a Scramble format, it’s € 120 for a team of four. There are lots of prizes to be won including Longest Drive and Nearest to the Pin. NOVENA

The guest speakers at the St Maria Goretti Novena taking place nightly at 8 p. m. from June 28 to July 6 are Bishop Brendan Kelly, Fr Eugene Duffy, Fr Tommy Towey, Fr Steve Gibson, Fr Paul Kivlehan, Dr David Barnes, Fr Stephen Farragher, Brendan Cleary and Fr John Maloney.
