No arrests following clashes between fans

THERE were no arrests at The Showgrounds on Sunday evening, despite clashes between fans of Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers during ugly scenes at the end of the game.

People were seen jumping the perimeter at the away section, before running towards fans sitting in the home section.

Security and the Gardaí stepped in quickly, and the situation was calmed quickly.

There was pushing and shoving between players too, following the full-time whistle, but that was also extinquished quickly.

Rovers ran out 1-0 winners against rivals Shamrock Rovers at The Showgrounds, in a crucial victory for the Bit O’Red.
