Columbarium for Rosses Point

Council officials have contacted a supplier with a view to erecting a columbarium for the storage of cremated remains at Rosses Point cemeter y.

Senior Executive Engineer, Brian Flynn, in response to Cllr Tom MacSharr y, said columbariums were becoming a common feature in graveyards around Ir eland. There were only a few suppliers however and contact had been made with one for a price of supplying one.

Cllr MacSharr y said the graveyard in Rosses Point had reached capacit y and there would be a meeting soon of the main stakeholders and people may be happy with a columbarium as a part solution.
