Sligo Garda Station ‘not fit for purpose’

COUNCILLOR Tom MacSharry says no tangible progress has been made on new Garda Station for Sligo despite pre-election promises of one. He said it was just not sustain- able that arrested persons had to be brought to Ballymote Station.“Morale appears to be low and conditions could result in a walkout. I call on the new Minister for Justice Charlie Fla- nagan to make it a high priority. It’s just not fit for purpose.” Cllr Seamus Kilgannon said: “Serious promises had been made in the run up to the election but there hasn’t been a peep since.”
