Drivers fined

A driver who took her boyfriend’s car to get to work, wasn’t insured, Sligo Distroct Court was told.

Denise McGrath of Oakfield Park was fined €200 for not having insurance at Ballinode on November 30 th last.

Defending solicitor, Ciaran White said it was an error of judgement. She had taken her boyfriend’s car to go to work. She had a learner permit.

The defendant said she worked full-time and was the mother of a six year old daughter. She didn’t have insurance at the time she told Judge Kevin Kilrane.

At the same court, Jamie Tracey of Dolphin House was fined €250 for not having insurance at Hughes Bridge on November 1st last.

He said he couldn’t afford insurance at the time.
