Fair Play awards ceremony

THE annual Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Shligigh awards were presented in the Sligo Park Hotel recently. The Annual Fair Play Awards Scheme was initiated in 2001/2002 by Cumann na mBunscol, Shligigh, to promote Fair Play on and off the pitch. The award is a school community award where it is hoped pupils, teachers, parents and supporters will all co-operate together to create a sporting atmosphere at our games.

Cathy McGinley, PRO of Cumann na mBunscol Shligigh, said: “We also run a special Finals’ Day Award. “All schools participating in our finals are invited to become involved and to promote Fair Play on and off the pitch. “This award is sponsored by the Galvin Family, Carraroe, in memory of our teaching colleague and friend, Maura,” she added.
