Grand National’s Fox wins again
BACK in April he was the toast of Aintree after winning the English Grand National on board One for Arthur and Sligo jockey Derek Fox won again on Monday evening in Kilbeggan.
It was a Sligo double as the Emmett Place jockey, 24, joined forces with Culleenamore-based trainer and his uncle Mark Mc
Niff to win the Greville Arms Hotel Mullingar Handicap Hurdle. Fox was on board Cairnshill and no doubt many punters around his hometown had him backed to win. There was delight too for owners the Sligo Turf Club. The last month has been a successful one for trainer McNiff as back in June he had not one but three winners at Downpatrick on the same day.
