GOLD FOR RIVERSTOWN

Well done to all the children from Riverstown, who took part in the Community Games Athletics County finals at the IT this weekend. Almost all of the children made it through to the finals.

Congratulations to Dylan McKenna who took Gold in the under-14 long jump and Niall Kenny, who silver in the under-12 boys 100m and Ciaran Kenny, who took bronze in the under-14 80m Hurdles.

The day finished with a fantastic result for the under-13 Mixed relay team who also took Gold: Lara Swann, Dylan McKenna, Sarah McKeon, George Barlow, Ciaran Kenny and Nola Eivers. Congratulations also to Oisin Conlon, who took gold in the Cycling County finals held recently in Tubbercurry Gaelic Pitch. Oisin will now go on to represent Sligo at the national finals.

RAMBLING HOUSE

Riverstown CCE Rambling House Session will take place in the Morrison Teach Ceoil, Riverstown on Saturday, July 8, at 9.30 p.m. All musicians, dancers, singers and storytellers welcome. Admission €10 with refreshments and food served on the night.

GAYNOR GUP

Well done to local girls, Lara Swann, Nola Eivers and Alice Lillie (Ballinafad), who competed in the Gaynor Cup recently in Limerick as part of the Sligo/Leitrim School Girls under-12 team. They were beaten by Galway 3-2 in the semi-final with Galway stealing it in the latter end of the second half with the winning goal. The team came third overall as the subsequent playoff against South Tipperary ended in 0-0 draw with a final score of 5-3 on penalties to Sligo/Leitrim girls.

SLIGO STAGES RALLY

The Sligo Stages Rally will base a Regroup Control at Sligo Folk Park, Riverstown on Sunday, July 9. Participants will be visiting the control on two occasions, each over a period of approximately one hour duration at 11.45 a.m. and 2.15 p.m. See the cars and crews close up in a family friendly, relaxed and safe environment. Ideal for photos, autographs and selfies.

COOKERY CAMP

Little Buddies will be running a cookery summer camp (Sweet and Savoury) for children aged 4-12 years. Dates currently available are Monday, July 17, to Friday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration forms can be got and must be returned to Little Buddies by the July 10. Price €75.
