VISITS TO THE SICK

Fr O’Shea will visit the sick and housebound in Riverstown/ Coolbock on Wednesday, July 5, and in Sooey/Gleann on Friday, July 7.

RAMBLING HOUSE

The Riverstown CCE Rambling House Session will take place in the Morrison Teach Ceoil, Riverstown on Saturday, July 8, at 9.30 p.m. All musicians, dancers, singers and storytelle­rs welcome. Admission €10 with refreshmen­ts and food served on the night.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Well done to all the children who competed at the county finals last weekend and congratula­tions to the medal winners: under-13 Mixed Relay Team (Gold); Dylan McKenna under-14 Long Jump (Silver); Niall Kenny under-12 100m (Bronze) Ciaran Kenny under-14 80m hurdles (Bronze).

AGRICULATU­RAL SHOW

The 2017 Sligo Co. Agricultur­al Show will be held on July 15 in the Community Park, Riverstown. A full day of events is scheduled of the day, including the usual Horse, Pony Cattle, Sheep, Home Industries and Poultry Classes kicking off from midday. The popular Dog Show starts from 1 p.m.

Other events happening on the day is the RSA Road Show, Farmyard in Your Schoolyard, Trade Stands, various novelty events, guess the weight competitio­n, Seán Og Dancing, entertainm­ent with the local Damian Kelly and Dominic Farrell. The show will be officially opened by Mairead McGuinness MEP at 1 p.m. Any inquiries to 087 2422160.
