Mountainee­rs on 33km trek

A group trekked a distance of 33.5km up the Benbulben Challenge walk recently all for charity.

Members from the Sligo Mountainee­ring Club completed the arduous walk of 33.5km recently to raise funds for the Sligo Cancer Support Centre.

Colm D’Arcy, Secretary of the Sligo Mountainee­ring Club said: “The members completed the walk as a sponsored walk in aid of the Sligo Cancer Support Centre.

“The group completed the Benbulben Challenge Walk, of 33.5km, with a 1513m accent in a time of 12 hours.

“They are pictured at the top of Benbulben Mountain at the end of a very long day.”
