COMMUNITY COUNCIL AGM

The annual general meeting of the Dromore West Community Council will be held in Dromore West Community Centre on Thursday, July 20, at 9 p.m.

HUNGER STRIKE EXHIBITION

The National Hunger strike Exhibition takes place in Easkey Community Centre on Sunday, July 9, from 12 – 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. This travelling exhibition is a rare opportunit­y to see a collection of artefacts from the iconic Long Kesh hunger strike of 1981.

CEMETERY MASS

The Roslea Cemetery Mass and blessing of graves will be held on Friday, August 4, at 7 p.m.

COMMUNITY ALERT

Kilglass/Culleens Community Alert will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, July 4, at 9 p.m. in Sheridan’s Bar, Kilglass. Volunteers are needed for bag packing in Dunne’s on Friday, July 21. Contact Oliver at 086 3409188 if available to help.

COMMUNITY GAMES

Well done to the children representi­ng Easkey Community Games who were winners of the Opening Parade at the county athletic finals held at IT Sligo.

DEATH

The death has taken place of Delia Hunter, Ballina and formerly Delia Begley of Rathlee. Burial took place in Ballina. Sympathy is extended to her nephew Brendan Queenan and family, Easkey.

Dromore

West/Templeboy Community Games enjoyed a successful outing at the county athletic finals held at IT Sligo. The children were awarded third place in the Opening Parade and had medals winners with Caoimhe Kelly, bronze in under-six 60 M, Anna Johnston silver under-eight 60M, Emma O’Brien silver throw ball, and Rachel O’Brien gold for discuss.

WATER SAFETY COURSE

The annual IWS Water Safety Course will be held daily at Aughris Pier from Sunday, July 23, to Friday, July 28.

Enrolment will take place on Friday, July 21, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Aughris Pier. For further informatio­n contact Sligowsac@ gmail.com.

FOOTGOLF FUNDRAISER

St Farnan’s GAA is holding a footgolf classic fundraiser at Queen Maebh’s Activity Farm in Ransboro on Sunday, July 9. Teams consist of four players with one female player and one under-18 player on each team. Entry fee is €10 per player. If you wish to enter a team please contact Padraic Culkin at 087 6392624.

LOTTO

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on June23. Numbers drawn were 3, 10, 30 and 31. Winners of €25 were Trevor Hanley, Rita Cullen, Jerome Clarke, Angela Kavanagh and Martin Connolly. Promoters prize Margaret Conlon. Next jackpot €4,700 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the Community Centre at 8.30 on Friday night. The lotto now is available online.

CONGRATULA­TIONS FIONN

Congratula­tions to Fionn Moylan, Easkey/St Farnan’s hurling club on winning the Sligo under-16 Poc Fada held on the Knocknarae Mountain. He will represent Sligo in the Connacht Poc Fada final on Monday, July3 in Bekan, Co. Mayo.
