Man gets Probation Order for 18 months

-

A man accused of a string of Public Order, burglary and criminal damage charges has been put on Probation for the next 18 months after the court heard he was doing “extremely well.”

Jamie Gorman (37) of Distillery Court, Abbey Street, Sligo, was charged with 13 offences on five dates in Sligo and Ballyshannon between April 2015 and June 2016.

A Probation Report handed up to Judge Kevin Kilrane last week revealed he had been co-operating with his Probation Officer, had found a place to live and had recently finished a 12 month Probation Order.

“I see that he is a new man to look at alone, he’s doing extremely well,” said Mr Gerard McGovern defence solicitor.

Probation Officer Ms Bridget Myles told the judge she was “very pleased with him” and Gorman was suitable for a Probation Order or Community Service now.

Judge Kilrane fined Gorman a nominal ¤100 on all matters and put him on a Probation Order for 18 months.
