Man sent to Circuit Court on assault charge

AN 18 year old youth from Rathbraugh­an has been sent forward for trial to Sligo Circuit Criminal Court accused of assaulting two men on The Mall.

State Solicitor for Sligo Mr Hugh Sheridan served John Sweeney his book of evidence at Sligo District Court last Thursday.

Sweeney, of Rathbraugh­an Park, Rathbraugh­an, Sligo, is accused of assaulting Mr Damien McAndrew causing him harm and robbing ¤40 from his wallet on The Mall last September 23rd.

Sweeney is also accused of assaulting Mr Aaron Worth causing him harm on the same occasion.

Judge Kevin Kilrane returned Sweeney for trial to Sligo Circuit Criminal Court on 18th of July at 10am.

He must not commit any offences in the meantime and be of good behaviour, live at 8 Beechlawn with his guardian Bridget Sweeney, obey a curfew 10pm-8am, sign on at Sligo Garda Station every Monday and Friday, and stay away from IT Sligo and Clarion Estates.
