Lush verges along N17 are blocking cars’ sight lines

-

HEDGES and trees along the N17 are blocking the views of motorists coming onto the main road, according to several members.

“For people delivering meals on wheels coming out at junctions, their sight lines are completely gone,” Cllr Jerry Lundy told the meeting during discussion on his motion.

Cllr Paul Taylor said: “This year we have seen a lot of growth along hedges - a lot of people have contacted me about verges.”

Council official Tom Brennan said verge trimming of the N4 and N59 is well underway at present and it’s hoped to start the N17 in the third week of July. He said they expected to be doing the same amount of hedge cutting as last year.
