Owenbeg landowner to be asked to remove shrubs

-

NEWLY planted shrubs at a junction off the N59 at Owenbeg in West Sligo are to be removed or set back for safety reasons. Councillor Joe Queenan asked for them to be removed. Senior Council Engineer Tom Brennan said the Enniscrone Area Engineer will ask the owner of the property to remove or set back the shrubs that are blocking sight lines at Owenbeg.

Councillor Hubert Keaney asked for hedge cutting in general to be brought forward to May or early June as vegetation can take “30 or 40 meters off the sight lines.”

Cllrs Rosaleen O’Grady and Martin Baker agreed it was a major issue this year.
