CADRA TIDY TOWNS

The adjudicati­on process for Tidy Towns has commenced and will continue till end July. We ask all our regular weekly litter pickers to please assist as usual with a regular weekly pick on your road. All litter picked in clear bags can be left at collection point at Community Centre on Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

Residents and businesses are requested to make a special effort to clean in front of their property in coming weeks. CADRA will supply bags, gloves; Hi Vis jacket and picker to any new volunteers just contact any committee member.

LAKEVIEW GUILD ICA

The guild members had a very enjoyable summer outing to Castlebar, Ballintubb­er and Cong on June 21. We would like to say a special thanks to Mary Duffy and Maureen Davey for organising such a brilliant day.

The Sligo Federation trip to Kilcar and Glencolmki­lle is on July 19, arrangemen­ts are now finalised; the bus will be leaving from Costa Coffee, Carraroe at 9 a.m., second pickup at Cissy Macs. Dolly’s Cottage, Strandhill will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for July and August; thanks to the members from Lakeview Guild, who have volunteere­d to help out. Congratula­tions to Strandhill Guild on the opening of the garden at the cottage on Sunday, June 18, well worth a visit.

The Federation president Kay Cunnane wishes to thank all the members for hosting tables at the federation afternoon tea party in Gleann on June 11 and all the members for attending on the day; it was a very successful and enjoyable day. Congratula­tions to the Well Pet Hospital, Carraroe on its first birthday on July 2 from the ladies of Lakeview ICA.

CADRA is appealing to people not to dump cigarette end from cars on to our roads. This activity leaves a piece of white filter paper on our roads causing unpleasant litter. Remember ‘Be Green Keep Carraroe Clean’ is our campaign slogan. Your assistance and cooperatio­n will be appreciate­d.

Cúl Camps: Online registrati­on is open for St John’s GAA Academy/Cúl Camp from July 17 to July 21 at Stenson Park, Cuilbeg, Sligo. Anyone wishing to book their child/children onto this year’s camp can do so now at kelloggscu­lcamps.gaa.ie.
