RECENT DEATHS
The death too place on June 14 of Jane Byford, Oakley Woods, Warwickshire, England. She was daughter – in-law of Janet Brady, Cuilmore, Gurteen. Her funeral took place on July 6 in England. Sincere sympathy is extended to Janet and James Brady and family on their bereavement. May she rest in peace.
The death took place at Abbey Haven Nursing Home Boyle on June 27 of John Kilcoyne, Gurteen View, Gurteen. His remains reposed at the Nursing Home and after the Funeral Mass on Thursday 29 burial took place in Knockbrack Cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to Alice and to all his relations and friends. May he rest in peace.
CEMETERY MASSES
The Cemetery Mass will be celebrated in Templeronan Cemetery on Sunday, August 6, at 11 a.m. The Killaraght Old Cemetery Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, August 13, at midday.
SUMMER OUTING
The annual Gurteen Community Care outing will take place on Wednesday, July 19, to the Allingham Arms Hotel, Bundoran. Cost will be €30 which includes lunch, entertainment and afternoon refreshments. Anyone, who would like to join them please leave your name into Mary Murphy at Gurteen PO before Friday, July 14. Bus leaves Health Centre at 11 a.m. This is always a great day out.
BINGO
Bingo is on every Friday night at 8.30 p.m. in Gurteen Hall the jackpot now stands at €2,400 on 49 calls or less with a lotto jackpot of €700. Profits are shared for the hall upkeep and the local GAA Club Eastern Harps.
SINGSKOOL
Singskool is on in Coleman Centre, Gurteen from July 10 to July 14. Mini melodies (3 – four years) ,treble makers (5 – six years) singskool stageskool (7 – 12 years). MOTOR NEURONE COLLECTION
The Motor Neurone Disease Association wish to sincerely thanks all who contributed to their recent church gate collection at the three churches. A total of €897 was collected which also included donations from family/ friends of TJM urphy.
5KM WALK
The Hunnington’s Disease 5km walk will be on Saturday, July 12, at Lough Key Forest Park starting at 10.45. Suggested donation €5. info at hunningtons.ie.
SUMMER SEISIUNS
The summer Seisiun continues in the Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen on Wednesday nights at 8.30 p.m. This stage show features the resident group showcasing traditional music at its best and the audience is entertained with a variety of traditional music, song and dance. On Saturday, July 1, there will be an informal junior session – a great opportunity for the younger musicians to play together. All the Seisiun shows welcome audience participation.
