WELL DONE PÁDRAIG
It does not seem that long ago since Pádraig Maye, Aclare, who is a member of Ballina Athletic Club, was being wished well on the upcoming athletic season. Already this season has ended with just two meetings: namely the all-Ireland Masters Indoor and Outdoor. Unfortunately he had to miss the British Indoor and Outdoor because of a persistant nagging hamstring.
The all-Ireland Masters Indoor was first on his calendar – held March 5, where Pádraig won the Long Jump and throwing the 35lb weight but had to settle for second in the Shot.
Neverthless in the Outdoor last Sunday, he won five individual medals in the Javelin, Long Jump, High Jump, Weight and Shot and yet his indomitable spirit and competitiveness encourages his to strive for more. Well done, Pádraig.
COUNTRY MARKET
Drummartin Country Market (9km out the Ballina road from Tubbercurry, on right besides Joe Dan’s Pub) is open every Saturday from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. On Saturday the 10th they celebrated their second birthday and it was a fantastic day. A huge thank you goes out to everyone.
Come along to the market this Saturday for their fantastic range of home baked goods, free range eggs, organic dexter beef, organic lamb, and organic vegetables by Crimlin farm, Reggie’s veggies, and a great selection of crafts. Not forgetting their wonderful coffee shop for tea, coffee and cakes.
