Congratula­tions to the following on their success at the recent County Sligo finals: Ben Clavin, who got silver in the 800 meters under-14, Laoise Gannon who got silver in the under-16 100 meters, Fionn Lucey, who got bronze in the under-14 100 meters and Barry Clavin, who got bronze in the 1500 meters.

NACE O’DOWD PARK

Works continue at Nace O’Dowd Park this past week with the excavation of the new walking/running track and Installati­on of the new steel spectator fence. A new all weather sand training area will soon be installed. The new modern playing pitch is looking splendid, nearing completion and will soon be ready for use once again.

8K ROAD RACE

The Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena GAA second annual 8k Road race was held in Coolaney last week and was a huge success with numbers well up on last year. Many thanks to all of the loyal, dedicated volunteers who helped organise and all who attended. It was great to see the community spirit in action. Check our Facebook and Twitter accounts for results and photos. All proceeds are for the club youth Blue Kidz Academy.

CARROWMORE SCHOOL

The friends of Carrowmore School group have announced plans for a Rambling house/social event in the School on Saturday, August 12, More details to follow.

25 CARD GAME

The local 25 card game continues every Friday in St Nathy’s Hall at 9 p.m.

DANCING

Set dancing is on every Thursday in St Nathy’s Hall at 8.30 p.m. and social dancing every Monday at 8 p.m. for beginners and 9 p.m. for all others.
