Tributes paid to Fianna Fáil members

Tributes were made to three prominent Fianna Fáil members at its Ballymote Comhairle Ceantair (Area Council) AGM held in Doddy’s Lounge Ballymote recently.

Paddy Hever who was President of the organisation locally and a very vocal member was remembered fondly as well as Brendan Bruen of Geevagh and Dominick Hever of Carrickbanagher all three of whom passed away since the last AGM.

The business of the meeting mainly contained discussion on local issues in the area from roads to housing needs, bin charges and school transport. Councillors Keith Henry, Martin Baker, Paul Taylor and Jerry Lundy were in attendance along with local TD Eamon Scanlon.

Andrew Hannon or Riverstown was returned as Chairman while Brian Killoran of Branchfield was elected as Secretary.
