Has ‘handle’ on addictions

-

A judge has agreed to adjourn the case of a Sligo man’s drugs charges after hearing he was getting a handle on his addictions.

Clive Zoschke (29) of Shannon Eighter, Rathbraughan, appeared before Judge Kevin Kilrane at Sligo District Court last week.

He had already pleaded guilty to obstructing a Garda and unlawful possession of drugs at John Street on St Stephen’s Day 2014.

He also pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of drugs at Slieve Mor, Ballytivnan on 18th July 2016.

His defence solicitor Mr Tom MacSharry told the court that the offences occurred when Zoschke was “under the influence of Class A drugs and alcohol.”

He said Zoschke had since attended three rehabilitation centres at New Hope, White Oaks and Tabor House.

Mr MacSharry said his client had another case in Longford adjourned to 17th of October.

“He is fully compliant with the Probation Services. He’s getting a handle on his addictions,” he said.

Judge Kilrane said a Probation Report said Zoschke was at a “high risk of re-offending in the next 12 months due to risk factors such as homelessness, a recent relapse and mental health.”

He adjourned the case to 19th October next on condition Zoschke continue under Probation Services supervision.
