Damaged Garda’s watch

-

A 22-year-old man who damaged a Garda’s wrist watch has been fined ¤100.

Dylan Lynott of Garavogue Villas, was charged with damaging the watch and two Public Order offences at Block B, Millbrook Apts, Sligo on November 22nd 2016.

He appeared at Sligo District Court with ¤100 in compensation last week.

Defence solicitor Mr Tom MacSharry told the court that Lynott was “eager to come to court with compensation for the criminal damage.”

“I’m extremely sorry for the way I acted. Sorry about everything else. It won’t happen again,” Lynott said.

Judge Kilrane convicted him on the two Public Order offences and fined him ¤100 for damaging the Garda’s watch.

“You know have a conviction for Criminal Damage. That’s a very serious charge. It wouldn’t suit for you to get into trouble again,” he warned Lynott.
