COUNCIL AGM

The annual general meeting of the Dromore West Community Council will be held in Dromore West Community Centre on Thursday, July 20, at 9 p.m.

CLOTHES COLLECTION

St Farnan’s GAA Club are holding an old clothes collection on Tuesday, August 1. Bags of Clean unwanted clothes, belts, paired shoes, bed linen (no duvets or pillows) and towels can be left in the girls home dressing room during training or you can contact 087 2673879.

ROSLEA MASS

Roslea Cemetery Mass and blessing of graves will be held on Friday, August 4, at 7 p.m.

STORIES SOUGHT

WELL DONE

Well done to all members of Tireragh CCE who competed in NUIG at the Connacht Fleadh. The following will represent Connacht at the all-Ireland finals in Ennis In August; Ciara Cowley: Comhra Gaeilge under-nine, Aisling McGuire: whistling under-12, Jason McGuinness: senior fiddle and slow airs, Lorna McGuinness, Claire Dunne and James Harte: Trio under-18, Naomh Fearnáin céilí Band under-18, Ceoltóirí Tireragh Senior Grúpa Cheoil, Members with Fred Finn under-18 Grúpa Cheoil Sinéad Harte, Stephen Mulligan, Lorna McGuinness and Clare Dunne.

FITNESS CLASSES

MJ Fitness is holding Fight Fit and Flex Fit classes in Easkey Community Centre every Tuesday. Fight Fit class at7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Flex Fit class at 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Cost is €12 per class or €40 for four classes. Contact Maria 083 0311686.

FUNDRAISIN­G

There will be a fundraisin­g event in aid of West Sligo Family Resource Centre in the Ocean Sands Hotel on Sunday, July 23. There will be music and refreshmen­ts served on the night. To continue to provide services at local level your support is needed. Admission is €10. The WSFRS is located at Castlepark House, Pier Road, Enniscrone.

SUMMER CAMP

A youth summer camp will be held from Tuesday, July 25, to Thursday, July 27, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Open to all children between 10 and 17 years. Venue is the FRC in Enniscrone and there will be arts, crafts, games, crazy golf and swimming. Camp is free. To register contact Aimee Flynn at 086 2316303.

SAD DEATH

The sudden death has taken place of Robert Joseph (Sonny) Kilgannon, Gleneaskey, Dromore West. His remains were removed from Sweeney’s funeral home to the Church of our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Dromore West. Burial took place in Churchill Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his wife Judy and family members.

WATER SAFETY COURSE

The annual IWS Water Safety Course will be held daily at Aughris Pier from Sunday, July 23, to Friday, July 28. Enrolment will take place on Friday, July 21, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Aughris Pier. For further informatio­n contact Sligowsac@gmail.com.

FOOTGOLF FUNDRAISER

St Farnan’s GAA Club have rearranged the footgolf classic fundraiser for Sunday, July 30, in Queen Meabh’s Activity Farm in Ransboro. First round kicks off at 1 p.m., anybody that wants to enter a team please text Padraic Culkin at 087 6392624 to book your place. Teams consist of four players and cost €10 per player. Each team must have a female player and an under-18 player. There will be prizes for overall winners, best family team and also a hole in one competitio­n.

SAD DEATH

The death has taken place of Billy Scott, Grangebeg, Skreen. His remains were removed from Sweeney’s funeral home to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Templeboy, for Requiem Mass and burial took place in St Joseph’s Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to his family and relatives.

NO WINNER

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on July 7. Numbers drawn were 12, 17, 18 and 19. Winners of €25 were Amanda Robinson, Harry O’Donnell, George Dunbar, Maggie Jane Kilgannon, and Michael Kenny. Promoters prize Margaret Conlon. Next jackpot €4,900 and the draw will take place at the bingo in the Community Centre at 8.30 on Friday night. The lotto now is available online.
