Flooding at Coleman Centre
The Vice Chairman of Sligo County Council Keith Henry has called for improvements to be made to the surface outside the Coleman Cottage in Mountirwin near Gurteen. Cllr Henry told the meeting that he recently brought visitors from the US to the cottage and noticed surface water outside which took from the overall appearance of the facility.
“If we want to attract more visitors to this fine example of Irish traditional housing and local heritage we should do all we can,” he added.
Cllr Paul Taylor lent his support to Cllr Henry’s motion. Cllr Henry who like Michael Coleman is a native of Killavil said he had provided an allocation of funding for the works.
Senior Engineer, Paddy Hughes told the meeting that works had been arranged to be carried out there.
