Sligo AC perform well at Nationals
THE Irish Life Health National Championships were held at the Morton Stadium this weekend.
Orlaith Delahunt was the first Sligo AC athlete into action in the 5K Walk and she finished 4th in 27:21. In the 200M Aaron Cadden was 2nd in his heat in 22:02. In the Final itself, Aaron finished 5th in 21:86 in a race won by Eanna Madden from Carrick on Shannon AC.
Emmet Dunleavy ran 15:14 in the 5000M heat on Saturday to qualify for the final on Sunday. In the final, Emmet finished 4th in 14:44 just 3 seconds behind Glaslough Harriers’ Conor Duffy in 3rd and Dundrum’s Robert Corbally in 2nd. Aaron Cadden ran a super PB of 10:93 to finish 3rd in his heat of the 100M. In the 100M Final, Aaron was in good sprinting company and he ran another good time with his 10:98.
