PARISH REUNION:

The Achonry/Mullinabre­ena Local and Emigrant reunion will once again take place in Killorans Tubbercurr­y on Tuesday August 8th at 9.30pm. No cover charge. A display of photos from the recent parish exhibition will be shown on a big screen during the night. Local musicians will also play on the night. The event coincides with the Old Fair Day festival with the Old Fair Day itself on Wednesday 9th. All welcome.

FLEADH SUCCESS:

We had great success in the parish at the recent Connacht Fleadh in NUI Galway. 1st U.12 Grúpa Ceoil and off to the All Ireland in Ennis are: Ciara & Hannah Lee, Aoife Johnston, Michael Gorman and Dylan Giblin. More competitio­n winners and Ennis qualifiers include: Sinead Johnston: 1st Banjo U.15, 1st Mandolin U.15, 1st Duet U.15. Aoife Johnston: 2nd Concertina U.12, 2nd Duet U.12, 1st Trio U.12, 3rd Whilstle U.12. Ciara Lee: 2nd Fiddle U.12, 3rd Slow Airs U.12. Ciara & Hannah Lee: 1st Duet U.12. Ciara Lee: Aoife Johnston & Conor McDonagh 1st Trio U.12. Ciara & Hannah Lee, Aoife Johnston & Michael Gorman: 3rd Céilí Band U.12. Sinéad & Conor Johnston & Ciara Lee: 3rd Céilí Band U.15. Very well done to all musicians and tutors involved and best of luck in Ennis at the All Ireland.

CARROWMORE SCHOOL:

The friends of Carrowmore School group have announced plans for a Rambling house/ social event in the School on Saturday August 12th at 2pm. All welcome along for a relaxed afternoon of music, song, chat , recitation and who knows what in the Master’s room with Peadar Conway as MC.

25 CARD GAME:

The local 25 card game continues every Friday in St. Nathy=92s Hall at 9pm.
