HERITAGE WEEKEND

The 28th Annual Ballymote Heritage weekend will take place from Friday 4th August to Monday 7th August with the official opening on Friday 4th at 8.30pm with a lecture The Museum Past, Present and Future by Dr. Patrick Wallace former Director of the National Museum of Ireland. There will be an outing and lecture each day. Lectures will be held at the Teagasc Centre €10. Coach for outings departs from the Catholic Church.

Irelands funniest man Mr Pat Shortt is bringing his extremely popular “Hows Tings” show to the Art Deco Theatre in Ballymote on bank holiday Sunday 6th August. Balymote Community Parks / Haiti Espwa Clothes Collection is ongoing, thank you to everyone who has donated so far to our collection at this stage we are half way towards a full load. Please keep the clothes, sheets, blankets, towels, shoes, runners, boots, bags coming in over the next two to three weeks. Please leave at first dressing room at Brother Walfrid Park. No duvets or pillows. Thank you for your continued support.

Summer Seisiún will continue this Wednesday 26th July. This stage show features our resident group showcasing traditiona­l music at its best and the audience is entertaine­d with a variety of traditiona­l music, song and dance. Saturday 29th July–Informal Junior Music Session. This is a great opportunit­y for young musicians to play together. This show will entertain audiences with a wide variety of Irish traditiona­l music, song and dance. Audience participat­ion is welcome. Shows commence at 8.30pm.
