Number plate was missing

-

A man has been given the benefit of the Probation Act for driving without number plates on his car but will still face a charge of dangerous driving.

James Stuart (25) of Knockadoo, Coolaney, stands accused of dangerous driving at Pearse Road, Sligo Valentine’s day 2016.

He was also charged with driving without a number plate at Leekfield, Skreen on 27th August 2016.

Stuart’s friend, Mr David Walsh, outlined to Judge Kilrane that Stuart’s number plates had fallen off the car going over a humped bridge and he had them on the front dashboard of the car with him when stopped by Gardaí.

Garda David McDonagh told the court that Stuart’s front number plate was missing and the rear plate was “non-compliant.”

Mr Walsh said the matter was “put in order that day.”

Judge Kilrane gave Stuart the Probation Act and adjourned his Dangerous Driving charge to 5th October.
