Hit student

A man who hit a Sligo IT student while driving in his car has been convicted of careless driving.

Niall Smyth(27) of Cranmore Drive, Cranmore, Sligo pleaded guilty to the charge at Ballinode on 7th October 2015.

Inspector Donal Sweeney told the court that the woman told Gardaí that she was hit by a car at Regional Stores, Ballinode at 4.50pm that day.

The court heard that the woman received minor injuries in the incident and didn’t need an X-ray at Sligo General Hospital.

Smyth’s wing mirror was damaged.
