Metal Mariners’ annual sail to Aughris

LOCAL sailors took to the seas recently for their annual trip to Aughris,

Weather conditions were sunny for The Metal Mariners and Sligo Yacht Club’s sail to The beach bar in Aughris.

Sunday July 23rd saw the third annual cruise to Aughris which was really popular with large numbers taking part,

The Metal Mariners and Sligo Yacht Club organised 9 Cruisers, 4 GP14, 1 Wayfarer (Built over the winter in DEHY Meats old premises featured in Halal Daddy along with 4 Safety Ribs and Powerboats.

Up to 100 members and friends travelled the 7.6km from Rosses Point to Aughris for the hospitalit­y delivered by Darren McDermott and his staff.

Fair winds and calm seas gave all who sailed a great day out and finished off back in the Clubhouse at Deadman’s Point.
