PARISH COMMITTEE

The next parish committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 1, in the Parochial house at 9 p.m. The work continues with flower planting and new village signs being installed. Great to see the improvemen­ts.

PARISH REUNION

The Achonry/Mullinabre­ena Local and Emigrant reunion will once again take place in Killorans Tubbercurr­y on Tuesday, August 8, at 9.30 p.m. No cover charge. A display of photos from the recent parish exhibition will be shown on a big screen during the night. Local musicians will also play on the night. The event coincides with the Old Fair Day festival with the Old Fair Day itself on Wednesday the ninth.

ROCK GIG

Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena GAA are thrilled to announce the confirmati­on of an event sure to have a huge appeal near and far. A major rock gig headlining the superb talents of Sligo musicians, Shane McGowan, Seamie O’Dowd and Kieran Quinn will take place in St Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurr­y on Friday, October 27, This brilliant trio of legends are widely renowned and tickets are sure to be in great demand. All proceeds go towards the park developmen­t fund. So save the date and be sure no to miss out. More details in the coming weeks.

CARROWMORE SCHOOL

The friends of Carrowmore School are planning a Rambling House/Social event on Saturday, August 12, from 2 p.m. After last year’s very successful reunion and tree-planting ceremony the friends of Carrowmore School would like to invite the community to come along again for tea or coffee/light refreshmen­ts, music, song and stories. Roll books will be available to view, plus photos from last year. Looking forward to seeing you there.

25 CARD GAME

The local 25 card game continues every Friday in St Nathy’s Hall at 9 p.m.

DANCING

Set dancing is on every Thursday in St Nathy’s Hall at 8.30 p.m. and social dancing every Monday at 8 p.m. for beginners and 9 p.m. for all others.
